This real photograph postcard was issued in 1913 by the Rotary Photographic Co Ltd of London in its Rotary Photographic Series, no. 6921 B. Oh! I Say, which was adapted from Henri Kéroul and Albert Barré's Une Nuit de Noces, ran for 290 performances. It was revived as a musical farce, with music by Philip Braham, under the title Telling the Tale at the Ambassadors' Theatre, London, on 31 August 1918, when Denier Warren played Durosel opposite Winnie Haytor as Marguerite and Nancy Gibbs as Suzette. The piece ran for 90 performances.
