This halftone postcard, printed by Miles & Co Ltd of 68-70 Wardour Street, London, W., was issued as part of the advertising material for The Great Day, a drama by Louis N. Parker and George R. Sims, with music by James M. Glover, which was produced at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London, on 12 September 1919. In addition of Miss Tetley and Mr Fitzgerald, the large cast included Stanley Logan, Gerald Lawrence, Marion Lind, Sybil Thorndike and Mary Brough. The piece closed after 98 performances on 6 December 1919.

The Great Day was adapted for the cinema in a 1921 film of that name, directed by Hugh Ford. The cast included Arthur Bourchier, May Palfrey, Marjorie Hume, Mrs Hayden Coffin and Meggie Albanesi.
