A Broken Idol, a musical comedy by Hal Stephens, with music by Egbert Van Alstyne and lyrics by Harry Williams, with additional music by Jean Schwartz, was produced at the Herald Square Theatre, New York, on 16 August 1909. Directed by Gus Sohlke, the cast included David Andrada, Lawrence Comer, Laura Guerite, Otis Harlan, Carrie E. Perkins, George Richards and Alice Yorke. Grace La Rue was a member of the chorus.
