The Shop Girl, vocal score

The colour lithograph cover of the vocal score for The Shop Girl,
Gaiety Theatre, London, 24 November 1894, published by Hopwood & Crew, London, 1894.

The 'Japanese' figures on this musical score cover for The Shop Girl, the highly successful music farce that ran for 547 performances at the Gaiety from 24 November 1894 to 29 May 1896, are after photographs of Katie Seymour as Miss Robinson, a fitter at the Royal Stores, and Edmund Payne as Mr Miggles, a shopwalker at the Royal Stores, in their duet and dance, 'Love on the Japanese Plan.'

For further information, photographs and music, see The Shop Girl page of The British Musical Theatre site; and Colin M. Johnson's Music and MIDI files..
